Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a heat radiation material using a graphite mixture wherein a heat conductive filler is used so that the heat conductivity in the thickness direction (the z-axis direction), which is low in conventional expanded graphite sheets produced from natural graphite, is improved. [Solution] A heat radiation material that comprises a graphite mixture, wherein mixed foaming graphite consisting of first foaming graphite having a particle diameter of 30-50 μm and second foaming graphite having a particle diameter of 200-250 μm is homogeneously mixed with a filler, and a sheet having a thickness of 0.25-1.65 mm, characterized in that: the filler is one or more kinds of heat conductive fillers selected from the group consisting of artificial graphite, boron nitride and milled pitch-based carbon fiber; in the mixed foaming graphite, the content of the first foaming graphite is 30-45% and the content of the second foaming graphite is 50-65%; the content of the mixed foaming graphite is 80-95% relative to the whole graphite mixture; the graphite mixture is laminated on the sheet; and the heat conductivity in the thickness direction is 3-10 W/m.K and the heat conductivity in the planar direction is 50-250 W/m.K.
