Abstract:
Mass-producible glass that satisfies specifications such as a capability for reducing the transmittance of ultraviolet rays and infrared rays compared with that of recent glass while maintaining the transmittance of visible light and methods for manufacturing such glass have not been developed yet. Disclosed is a heat reflecting glass having a film of metal oxide or metal nitride formed on a glass that absorbs ultraviolet rays and infrared rays, and thereby having a solar radiation heat acquisition rate of 55% or less obtained in accordance with JIS R-3106 when the thickness of the glass is four millimeters. In addition, the visible light transmittance of the glass obtained in accordance with JIS R-3106 when the thickness of the glass is four millimeters is 60% or more.
