Abstract:
A heat-resistant magnesium alloy, and a method for producing same wherein a magnesium alloy having an aspect ratio of crystal grain not less than 5 is produced by conducting a unidirectional solidification under a condition such that the quotient of the temperature gradient (K/mm) divided by solidification rate (mm/s), (i.e. temperature gradient/ solidification rate), falls within the range from 1 (K·s) to 10,000 (K·s).
