Title:
HEAT-RESISTANT TUNGSTEN ALLOY, FRICTION STIR WELDING TOOL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/182497
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a heat-resistant alloy for use in a plastic working tool, the alloy having physical properties, such as proof strength, hardness, and the like, that are sufficient to accommodate worked materials of higher melting points than in the past. This heat-resistance tungsten alloy has: a first phase in which W is the main component; a second phase which has a carbonitride of at least one element from among Ti, Zr, and Hf, and in which the carbonitride is the main component when W is excluded; and a third phase which has a carbide of at least one element of the Group 5A elements of the periodic table, and in which the carbide is the main component when W is excluded. This alloy furthermore has: a Vickers hardness of at least 550 Hv at room temperature; a displacement to fracture of at least 1 mm, as determined by three-point flexural testing at 1,200°C; and a 0.2% proof strength of at least 900 MPa, as determined by three-point flexural testing at 1,200°C.
