Abstract:
A heat sink (1), comprising a vertical plate−like heat sink body (2) having a heat receiving part (3) and a heat radiating part (4) and heat radiating fins (5) provided on at least one of the faces of the heat radiating part (4), wherein a working fluid circuit (61) is formed in the heat sink body (2) so as to extend from the heat receiving part (3) to a heat radiating part upper area (4b) positioned at a place higher than the heat receiving part (3) through a heat radiating part lower area (4a) positioned on the side of the heat receiving part (3), working fluid is sealed in the working fluid circuit to form a heat pipe part (6), and the average flow passage cross sectional area of a working fluid circuit portion (61A) formed in the heat radiation part lower area (4a) is smaller than the average flow passage cross sectional area of a working fluid circuit portion (61B) formed in the heat receiving part (3), whereby the amount of liquid working fluid accumulated in the working fluid circuit portion (61B) of the heat radiation part lower area can be reduced and a higher performance can be provided at a lower cost.
