Abstract:
Disclosed is a heat storage member which is lightweight, less expensive and applicable to spacecrafts. This heat storage member is provided with a honeycomb structural body (3) having a number of cells, wherein each of the cells is packed with a capsule, which contains a heat storage material encapsulated therein, and a heat conductive filler. By packing the honeycomb structural body (3) with the capsules, which contain the heat storage material encapsulated therein, and the heat conductive filler, a lightweight and less expensive heat storage member having a good heat conductivity can be obtained even in the case where the heat storage member has a large thickness. The heat storage member is produced by contacting a starting material (2), which is a mixture of the capsules containing the heat storage material encapsulated therein with the heat conductive filler, with the honeycomb structural body (3) in such a state that at least one face of the opening of the cells of the honeycomb structural body (3) is covered with the material (2), and then subjecting the same to uniaxial pressure molding under a pressure of 4-10 MPa inclusive to thereby pack the material (2) into the cells.
