Abstract:
A heat storage system that is provided with an energy conversion part (10) and a heat storage part (20) that includes a heat storage material (40). The energy conversion part converts an energy source into another form of energy and releases heat via a medium simultaneously with the energy conversion. The heat storage material can reciprocally exchange heat with the medium, stores heat from the medium when in a heat storage mode, and releases stored heat to a heating target when in a heat release mode that is different from the heat storage mode. The heat storage material exhibits a first solid phase when at temperatures above a prescribed temperature and exhibits a second solid phase when at temperatures at or below the prescribed temperature. In this heat storage system, the heat storage material of the heat storage part remains in a solid state even after undergoing a phase change. As a result, a case for maintaining the shape of the heat storage material is unnecessary.
