Abstract:
A heat treatment apparatus (1) comprising a heating unit (2) having a heating apparatus (20) for induction heating a workpiece (W) to a target temperature along a feeding direction of an annular workpiece (W) and a cooling unit (3) that cools and quenches the workpiece (W) by immersing the workpiece (W) in a cooling liquid (36) in a state in which a restraint mold (33) capable of restraining the outer peripheral surface of the workpiece (W) as the workpiece (W) is cooled is arranged on the outer periphery of the workpiece (W), wherein a first space (A) that houses the heating apparatus (20) and a second space (B) in which treatment is performed that creates a state immediately prior to beginning restraint of the outer peripheral surface of the workpiece (W) by the restraint mold (33) are provided separate from each other in a sealed chamber (4) in which the atmosphere has been made to be a nonoxidizing atmosphere, and the workpiece (W) is released from the restraint mold (33) in the cooling liquid (36) with the outlet side opening (4b) of the sealed chamber (4) closed.
