A heat treatment furnace (10) for heating and treating an object (1) to be treated comprises: a hollow heating chamber (20) for receiving therein the object to be treated and configured from a heat insulating member; a resistance heater (22) mounted within the heat insulating member; a hollow furnace body (12) surrounding the heating chamber with a gap present between the heating chamber and the hollow furnace body (12); a nozzle (16) provided to the furnace body so as to communicate with the inside of the furnace body; an electrode bar (30) removably mounted to the outer end of the nozzle and electrically insulated from the nozzle; and a flexible conducting wire (32) for electrically connecting the lead wire (23) of the heater and the electrode bar. The conducting wire (32) can be mounted to and removed from the electrode bar (30) outside the nozzle (16) while the electrode bar (30) is separated from the nozzle (16), and the conducting wire (32) has a length which does not cause the conducting wire (32) to make contact with the inner surface of the nozzle while the electrode bar is mounted to the nozzle.
