Abstract:

This heater control device controls an electric heater (12). The electric heater has a plurality of heating units (121, 122) producing heat by being energized, and radiating the heat from the plurality of heating units. Current determination units (S103, S104, S105) in the heater control device determine whether or not a predetermined current limit value (AL1) is exceeded by a total energization current value (HAt), which is the value of the current for energizing the electric heater when the entirety of the plurality of heating units is energizable. If the total energization current value has been determined to exceed the current limit value, the energization control units (S102, S106) of the heater control device execute a first heater control whereby the electric heater is energized while an object to be brought to an energization-disabled OFF state is being switched among some or the entirety of the plurality of heating units. If the total energization current value has been determined to be equal to or lower than the current limit value, the energization control unit executes a second heater control whereby the electric heater is energized while the entirety of the plurality of heating units is enabled to be energized.
