Abstract:

A halogen lamp (100) comprises a glass bulb (11), a filament (12) inserted inside the bulb, a pair of metal foils (151, 152), and a pair of outer leads (161, 162). Each metal foils has one end welded to the filament and the other end welded to the outer lead. The metal foils are contained in glass sleeves and the metal foils and the sleeves are inserted inside the bulb. The bulb is heated and softened. The pressure inside the bulb is reduced, and consequently the bulb is contracted to seal in the metal foils inside. Since the amount of glass of each formed sealing part is larger than the other parts of the bulb by the sleeves, the shapeof the sealing parts are stabilized.
