Abstract:
The present invention relates to a heating and cooling apparatus for a shape-memory-alloy-based tool holder, and to a heating and cooling apparatus for heating or cooling a shape-memory-alloy-based tool holder to clamp or unclamp a tool, wherein the apparatus comprises: a Peltier device, one end of which becomes a hot portion and the other end of which becomes a cold portion when current is applied thereto; a shape memory alloy cooling part connected to the cold portion of the Peltier device; and a shape memory alloy heating part connected to the hot portion of the Peltier device. As the apparatus can be easily electrically controlled, the automation of a tool replacement system is made possible, and as the apparatus can be easily applied to miniature industrial machinery systems due to the lightweight and small configuration thereof, it can be semi-permanently configured at a low cost, and can be provided as a heating and cooling apparatus for a shape-memory-alloy-based tool holder without affecting the environment, as opposed to cooling employing coolants that affect the environment.
