Description:
HEATING ELEMENT CONFIGURATION FORMED OF MULTIPLE INFRARED HEATERS THAT CAN BE DIRECTED IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS

Technical Field

The invention is related to a heating element configuration formed of multiple infrared heaters, where each heating unit can be directed in different directions according to the preference of the user.

Prior Art Infrared heaters are heating systems that provide heating by emitting infrared rays. Infrared heaters are used to heat targets rather than heating an environment. One of the most important and distinctive features of infrared heating systems is that they directly heat only the object without heating air at the same time, or without using air as an agent for heating. In other words they do not heat air; they emit the heat to the closest point where the heat comes in contact with at the point which the heater directly faces. Therefore infrared heaters which start to emit powerful heat to the targeted areas as soon as they are opened, also lead to sudden temperature drops in the environment they are located in as soon as they are turned off . The matter that needs to be primarily known is that the lights in infrared heating systems can carry more heat than other lights . Infrared lights are lights that have a wavelength range between 0,76 to 300 micrometers of solar rays. The lights are orange and at the same time infrared rays can only be clearly seen during sunrise and sunset. These lights that are used in heating systems industrially, are actually used for treatment purposes in the medical sector and in the communication sector.

As infrared heaters heat the target they are facing, they pose a significant handicap for places where a number of people are sitting in different locations. As the heater shall only heat the point it is facing, the people sitting in other locations shall not even feel the heat. In the cases where the heater is aimed to be used in indoor areas, the heater shall not provide nearly any temperature increase for people sitting in different locations.

In such a case a different heater needs to be used for each different heating direction. This will cause both the environment intended to be heated to be more cluttered and crowded, and it may also increase costs as it requires the use of a large number of heaters and heater carrier units.

The clutter in the environment shall also increase from the excess number of cables that will be lying around due to the usage of several numbers of heaters. Moreover if many untidy cables are lying around in the environment, this shall also create a serious risk during usage of said cables .

On the other hand collecting and repositioning of the heaters and changing the directions of different heaters after they have been positioned also leads to problems of practicality .

The patent application numbered ES2116173 describes a heating element having infrared heaters on different surfaces thereof, in order to enable the emission of heat in different directions. The heating element subject to the invention does not have a configuration which allows the heater to be directed in different directions. The heaters have been placed such that they face different directions. Therefore it shall not be possible to turn the heaters into other directions. On the other hand it shall not be possible to increase heating efficiency by turning 2 or more heaters in the same direction in the present configuration .

The patent application numbered US6304719 describes a heating element that has been equipped with an infrared heating unit that can be rotated.

The mechanism subject to the invention has been equipped with a rotating mechanism such as a ventilator. By this means it is aimed to be able to turn the heater in any desired direction or for the heater to rotate in different direction by means of oscillation.

The heating element subject to the patent numbered US6304719 radiant heater with a halogen lamp. A lamp cover is fixed to the front of the support projection for distributing far infrared rays to the reflector and preventing the eyes of a user from being dazzled. As the system is able to be operated by rotation, it is aimed to provide heating to different users located at different places within the heating environment or to provide increased heating in a room. But when systems that use infrared sources are distanced from the target they are supposed to heat, the target area rapidly cools and this prevents effective operation of the heating system for different targets to be achieved. The heater heats the target when it is rotating and as soon as its focus changes from the target, the target rapidly cools down. In the same way when the heater rotates back towards the target the target is heated again.

Problems Aimed to be Solved by the Invention

The aim of the invention is to establish an infrared heating element which is used in order to heat targets located in different directions in the same environment, simultaneously .

The heating element subject to the invention comprises a plurality of heating units in its structure and allows different heaters to be turned towards different directions By this means, it is enabled for targets that are positioned in different directions to be heated by using a single heating element.

As a result the necessity to use a plurality of heating elements in order to heat different targets, shall be eliminated. Furthermore the clutter of cables and devices formed by connecting several heating elements to the heating medium shall also be eliminated.

As the embodiment of the invention allows different radiation units located on the same heating element to be turned in different directions, the user shall be able to operate the heating element via the control unit (s) located on a single heating unit. Not only manual systems but also motorized elements can be used for turning the different heating units of the heating element subject to the invention. In the case that motorized elements are used for providing the rotation process, the user will be able to direct with a remote control, the heating element or heating units connected to said heating element.

Description of the Invention The invention relates to a heating element which allows different heating units (1) on the same heating element to be rotated in different directions in order to simultaneously heat targets in different directions. The heating element subject to the invention comprises several heating units (1) arranged on a carrier column (4) . The heating element has been equipped with at least a rotation guidance component (2) which enables each heating unit (1) to be turned in different directions in order for targets located in different places and directions in a heating environment to be heated. The rotation guidance components (2) allow each heating unit (1) to be turned in the desired direction independently from each other. By this means, the different targets within the heating environment can be heated using a single heating element.

As the heating element subject to the invention comprises infrared heating units (1) that can provide radiant heating, the targeted can be heated only when the heating surface (1.1) belonging to the related heating unit (1) is focused to the target. Due to this reason the rotation guidance component (2) defines guidance equipment which can direct the heating surface (1.1) towards the desired target.

The rotation guidance component (2) according to different embodiments of the invention defines a manually operated mechanism, whereas in other embodiments it defines motorized motion providing equipments.

The heating element, according to Figure 2 and 4, has been equipped with manual guidance components (2.1) . In this case the user can move the rotation guidance components (2) manually and can direct the heating surface (1.1) towards the desired target.

According to the embodiment which has been illustrated in Figure 2, the rotation guidance components (2) that are located on the rear surface (1.2) of the heating unit can be used in order for the user to be able to direct the heating surface (1.1) towards the desired target. The mentioned component has been formed as a handle.

The embodiment illustrated in Figure 4, defines a manual guidance component (2.1) of a heating element formed as a handle on the heating surfaces (1.1) . Figure 3 and 5, illustrates a heating element equipped with motorized guidance component (s) (2.2) . By this means the user is able to direct the heating surface (1.1) by moving said rotation guidance components (2) via the motorized mechanism. In such a case the heating element can additionally be equipped with a remote control unit. Thereby the user can change the directions of the heating surfaces (1.1) of the heating units (1) without having to get up and go near the heating element.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the heating units (1) have been arranged successively and adjacent to each other on the carrier column (4) . In this case the heating units (1) form an integrated and continuous heating element. (Figure 1, 2 and 3)

Figure 4 and 5 illustrate the invention embodiment where the heating units (1) have been arranged successively but separately at a certain distance with each other, on the carrier column (4)

The preferred embodiment of the heating element subject to the invention is formed of heating units (1) that have been positioned on a carrier column (4) that is upright. Thereby a base plate (3) has been provided in order for the carrier column (4) to be held upright.

The carrier column (4) according to Figure 1-5 is integrated with the base plate (3) .

The embodiment of the invention can, not only be used as an infrared heater, but it can also be adapted for heaters such as quartz etc. The heating units (1) can be arranged vertical to the ground plane as shown in Figure 1, but it shall also be within the scope of the invention if the heating units (1) were to be arranged at different angles and directions.

According to an embodiment of the invention, the heating units (1) have been arranged parallel to the ground in order form a heating element configuration.
