Abstract:
A helical compressor (10) has, inside a sealed casing (11), an electric motor (12) and a helical blade type compression mechanism (13) driven by the electric motor (12). This compression mechanism (13) comprises a main bearing (20), a sub-bearing (21), a cylinder (23), a roller (24) eccentrically received in the cylinder (23), and a helical blade (25) interposed between the roller (24) and the cylinder (23). The roller (24) incorporated in the compression mechanism (13) has a spiral groove (28) formed in the outer peripheral surface thereof and a radially extending key groove (38) formed in the roller end surface. When, with the suction side end (initial end) of the spiral groove set to zero degree, the spiral groove is formed with a plus side angle from zero degree, the key groove (38) is formed at a required angular position on the minus side; thus, the spiral groove (28) and the key groove (38) are effectively disposed in the outer peripheral surface and the end surface, respectively, of the roller (24). According to the above arrangement, a helical compressor can be provided wherein the roller has a spiral groove and an Oldham key effectively disposed therein to make the roller compact in size and to improve reliability.
