Abstract:
A helical protector (11) mounted to an overhead cable (7) at the position of contact between a support (1) and the cable (7) supported by a support member (3) of the support (1). The helical protector (11) is provided with a tubular body (30). The body (30) has a cut section (24) through which the cable (7) is introduced into the body (30). The cut section (24) has counterclockwise helical sections (13) which turn counterclockwise along the axis (X) of the body (30), clockwise helical sections (15) which turn clockwise along the axis (X) of the body (30), and reversing sections (17) which are each located between each of the counterclockwise helical sections (13) and each of the clockwise helical section (15). The counterclockwise helical sections (13) and the clockwise helical sections (15) are alternately connected along the axis (X) with the reversing sections (17) interposed therebetween.
