Abstract:
The present invention is a helmet use assessment system comprising: an imaging means, which is disposed at a specified location and is for imaging two-wheeled vehicles traveling on the road; and a helmet use assessment means for processing the photographed image taken by the imaging means, estimating the riders' head region that corresponds to the head(s) of the people riding the two-wheeled vehicle that is traveling on the road, comparing the image features of the riders' head region with image features corresponding to a head when wearing a helmet and/or when not wearing a helmet, and assessing whether the rider(s) are wearing or not wearing a helmet.
