Description:
HERBAL PET FOOD

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to herbal pet animal feed and their preparation method. The present invention relates to ingredients for animal feed compositions for enhancing animal growth and/or animal health. The invention also relates to methods for producing such ingredients and to feed compositions. More particularly, to an environmentally friendly nutritional herbs mixed in animal feed. More in particular the composition of the present invention can advantageously be used in animal feeds .

Background of the Invention

In recent years, the continuous development of the aquaculture industry, which greatly promoted the development of our economy and improve the living standards of citizens, the existing feed varied, due to the current feed quality varies greatly, poultry, livestock feed, which directly affects aquaculture development of industry, many of the current feed nutrition ratio unscientific, and the more general problem is that nutrition is not balanced, pure natural feed ingredients, mineral deficiencies, and synthetic, its fiber, vitamins and other products lack, which led to poultry, livestock slow growth. Animals are exposed to many stresses during their lives. These stresses affect the health of the animal, the growth of the animal, and overall well-being. Currently, antibiotics and other treatments are used to improve the immune function of animals. Concerns over antibiotic use in animal production has created a need to find more natural immune stimulants.

It is generally known that the efficacy of animal feeds may be enhanced by the composition used in animal feeds. These added compounds may enhance such efficacy in various ways. One of the aims pursued by such addition are the beneficial effects obtained in the stomach, resp. the intestinal tract of the animals fed. It is long established that there is a direct relationship between animal feed and the quality of food produce from a particular animal. An example of this relationship is evident where fish meal is used in pig feeding with the constituent ingredient levels of fish meal impacting on the nutritional quality of the food.

An improved method of strengthening the immune system and improving the well-being of animals is needed. In the present invention the composition use for the preparing such animal feed provides nutritional quality of animal fees with their preparation method and the compositions use. The feeding of livestock, such as pets, cattle, ovine, porcine, poultry, fish, -including commercial and ornamental fish-, schrimp and other crustaceans, is a constant problem in the field of animal breeding and agro-food industry. Because of the limited production facilities and lack of improvement in production technology, animal breeding is both costly and time- consuming. To improve the production and the profitability of animal breeding, the most common solution is to provide industrial feed compositions, at least to complete the diet of the animals. While feedstuffs are not of constant composition, several constituents are required to fulfill the nutritional goal. Indeed, even if the biological response to the feed depends on the ability of the animal to derive useful nutrients from said feed, the feedstuffs used in the feeding generally comprise digestible proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and fiber. Animal feed compositions are usually formulated with low cost formulations. Of particular importance is the limited supply of digestible energy and the associated cost. The most costly nutrients are proteins and amino acids, including the essential amino acids

However, the production of animals that contain a significant rate of proteins would be necessary to proportionate the increase in world population. The use of fish meal or meat and bone meal as protein raw material has been developed because of its low cost. Indeed, meat and bone meal is a product of the rendering industry that comprises about 50% protein, and 8-12% fat. It is primarily used in the formulation of animal feed to improve the amino acid profile of the feed. However, the feeding of bone meal as protein to cattle is thought to have been responsible for the spread of mad cow disease. Consequently, in most parts of the world, the use of bone meal as protein supply is no longer allowed in feed for ruminant animals. Another raw material used for preparing feed compositions for ruminant animals is cellulosic material, which is a cheap and non direct valuable material. However, even if enzymes in ruminants allow the degradation of cellulose, several pre-treatments are performed to partially hydro lyze the cellulose and hemicellulose in order to help the further degradation by ruminant animals and enhance the digestibility of this raw material. For example, the addition of various exogenous enzymes, such as cellulases and hemicellulases, to the feedstuff comprising cellulosic material is useful to decrease polymer crystallinity and to increase access to the polymer backbone. In the same way, the thermo-chemical pre-treatment of the cellulosic material is also possible to partially hydro lyse the hemicellulose and cellulose portions. Although these treatments improve carbohydrate digestibility and more generally the bio availability of nutriments of the cellulosic material, they can be expensive and economically prohibitive. In addition, even if pretreated, the cellulosic material is still indigestible and is therefore incapable of providing nourishment for the non ruminant animals, such as pigs and poultry. Furthermore, these treatments do not provide proteins, which are the most expensive constituent in animal feed compositions. Consequently, there is a need of less expensive, safer and more nutritious food to commercial farm and battery animals, including both ruminant and non ruminant animals, commercial fish and schrimp aquaculture, and pets.
