Abstract:
This hermetic compressor has, on the outer peripheral surface of a piston (136): a cylindrical sealing portion (137) that forms a sliding surface; an outer peripheral surface portion (140) that is positioned rearward of the sealing portion (137), has the same radius as that of the sealing portion (137), and supports the lateral pressure applied to the piston (136); and a lower stepped surface (139) that is formed so as to have a smaller radius than that of the outer peripheral surface portion (140). Multiple recessed portions (142) are formed as a group on the outer peripheral surface portion (140). The sliding area is thus reduced by the recessed portions (142) provided on the outer peripheral surface portion (140) but not provided on the sealing portion (137). Accordingly, the sliding loss can be reduced, the efficiency of the hermetic compressor is increased, and the refrigerating capacity of the refrigeration device can be improved.
