Title:
HERNIA BANDAGING COMBINATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/010201
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The disclosed hernia bandaging combination method with use of elastic bandage or bandaging material (2) combined with waist belt like device (1) and pad like device (3) provides adjustable physiologically acceptable pressure to the pad placed over the area of hernia protrusion. The plurality of projections of elastic bandaging material (2) from the crotch area towards the waist belt like device (1) provide the ability to keep the necessary pressure on the pad (3) to avoid or reduce the danger or risk of the increase of the size of protrusion during physical activities. To prevent unintentional dislocation of the pad (3) from the place over the hernia protrusion, the elastic pressure of bandaging material have the possibility to the adjusted by the user. Also the user can adjust the strength of pressure on the pad and balance the pressure with estimated physical activities.

Description:
HERNIA BANDAGING COMBINATION METHOD

For many years supports for the hernia were providing the only available and limited alternative. This invention has been specially devised and tested for several years by inventor in order to provide an improved hernia bandaging combination method of simple, cheap, effective and readily reusable combination and whereby the force of pressure from the elastic bandaging material to the pad like device could be fully adjusted to the size of a body and or required physical activity.

The present invention has been developed primarily for use as a hernia bandaging at pre-operative stage to provide a possibility to conduct manual work and or other physical activities. However, it will be appreciated that the invention is not limited to this particular field of use.

It is an object of the present invention to overcome or ameliorate at least one of the disadvantages of the prior art, or to provide a useful alternative and could be used on one or both sides of a body.

According to one aspect of the invention there is provided a method of hernia bandaging as described above including the steps of :

a) Attaching or mounting the elastic bandage material to the belt like device b) Providing the ability to adjust the required physiologically acceptable pressure force from the elastic bandage material to the pad like device placed over the place of hernia protrusion. c) Preferably, the attached or mounted elastic bandage material include a plurality of projecting longitudinally and extending from the crotch in upward directions to the waist belt like device and keeping the required pressure on the pad like device.

The invention may be better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating the preferred embodiment and described, by the way of example only, in which :

Figure 1 is a front view of a hernia bandaging combination method according to the invention.

Figure 2 is a side view of hernia bandaging shown in figure 1.

Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line 3 - 3 of Figure 1.

The hernia bandaging method includes the use of : the waist belt like device 1 mounted over the hips around the body, elastic bandage 2 is attached to or mounted over the waist belt like device 1 and in turn supports the pad like device 3 providing physiologically acceptable force of pressure of the pad like device around the place of rupture ( hernia protrusion). Elastic bandaging material could be attached to or mounted over the front and back part of the waist belt like device 1 passing through the crotch to provide stability and necessary pressure to the pad like device 3

The method of mounting over or attaching elastic bandaging material to or over the waist belt like device 1 involves providing adjustable force of strength to the pad like device 3 and increase the structural rigidity of the bandaging over the pad.

While a triangle base provides a very simple support construction for the pad, other shapes may be used. The optional projections can extend either inwardly or outwardly and can be spaced around the hip or hips and lower back areas.

Although the invention has been described with reference to specific examples, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the invention may be embodied in many other forms.-
