The present invention provides a heterocyclic compound having orexin receptor type 2 agonist activity. A compound represented by formula (I) [in the formula, each symbol is as described in the description] or a salt thereof has orexin receptor type 2 agonist activity and is useful as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for narcolepsy.
