Abstract:
Heterogeneous steel wire for use in multi-wire cutting, comprising two or more sets of heterogeneous parts. Each heterogeneous part consists of a curled part (12) and a twisted part (11). The axes of steel wires in the curled part (12) are on a same plane. The axes of steel wires in the twisted part (11) do not share any plane. The axes of the steel wires of the curled parts (12) of a same set of heterogeneous part are within a same plane. An external tension of 5 newtons is applied to the heterogeneous steel wire, then the diameter, D, of an outer envelope of the heterogeneous steel wire is 1.01-1.35 times of the average diameter of the heterogeneous steel wire. Formed via heterogeneous shaping is a solid multidimensional structure more complex than a structured steel wire bent on planes, and because of enhanced structural retention capability brought forth simultaneously by the presence of heterogeneous twisting and deformation strengthening generated during a heterogeneous process, cutting performance is further improved in comparison with a conventional structured wire at an equal kerf loss. At the same time, a corresponding manufacturing apparatus and manufacturing method. This allows a great balance to be achieved between maximized potentials for cutting efficiency improvements and minimized risks of cutting yield fluctuations for the heterogeneous steel wire.
