HIDDEN WINDOW HINGE FOR CARAVANS AND/OR MOTORHOMES

Subject of the invention is hidden window hinge for caravans and/or motorhomes. Hidden hinge, beside the fact that it is hidden from the outer side, also enables full functioning, that means closing and opening of the window and it enables production of the window with completely flat outer surface without visible hinge. As the hinge is hidden, there is also less possibility of the dirt infiltration in the hinge that could cause limited functioning. Consequently, completely flat outer surface of the window also enables to the user much easier cleaning, as there are no hidden angles or formed parts. Invention falls into class B60J 1/14 of the international patent classification.

Technical problem that this invention solves is construction and execution of such window hinge for caravans and/or motorhomes, that won't be executed and visible on the outer wall of caravan and/or motorhome and therefor won't be accessible to infiltration of dirt and consequently limited functioning, but will be hidden behind outer pane.

Window for caravan and/or motorhome is composed from bonded inner and outer pane from acrylic (PMMA) or similar material. Hinge is installed on upper side of the window and enables opening and closing of the window. Known executions of window for caravans and/or motorhome have in some way visible hinge, that is usually installed in a way that movable part A of the hinge is pressed on outer pane B or it is pressed on both inner and outer pane together, as shown on picture 1, outer part C of the hinge represents a profile on which movable part of A hinge slides. In such execution outer part of C hinge is installed on outer side of the wall of the caravan or motorhome. It is consequently exposed to infiltration of dirt and consequentially possibility of limited functioning. Profiles or outer parts of C hinge can be attached on the outer wall of the caravan and/or motorhome also in other ways (slide into a grove, made on glass, glued), but in any case, they are visible from the outer side.

Hidden window hinge for caravans and/or motorhomes after invention solves aesthetical problem and at the same time functioning in case of dirt and allows a production of final product that has completely flat surface without hidden angles, with a system of new hinge with profiled carrier on which only inner pane is attached and majority of profiled carrier together with a hinge is hidden behind outer pane.

Hidden window hinge for caravans and/or motorhomes after invention, as shown in cross section on drawings 2 and 3 is on window frame, that is represented by profiled carrier 1, installed in the way that fixed part of the hinge 2 is installed on towards inside moved part lb of carrier 1. Inner pane 4, that is bonded to outer pane 5, is attached on movable part of the hinge 3, that slides in fixed part of hinge 2. Window frame 1, that is represented by profiled carrier 1 is functionally divided on three parts as follows: part la that fits on caravan and/or motorhome wall, part lb that is intended for installation of fixed part of hinge 2 and part lc that is intended for installation of rubber sealing 6 for the window.

As visible from drawing 2, parts lb and lc are moved towards inside of carrier 1 of window frame compared to part la of carrier 1. It is in this way enabled, that the hinge, composed from fixed part 2 and movable part3, is hidden inside of window frame.

In fixed part 2 of the hinge, that is installed on part lb of carrier 1, movable part 3 of the hinge is installed so that it slides in it. Inner pane 4, that is bonded with outer pane 5, is installed in movable part of the hinge 3. On bonding there is a step 4a conducted on inner pane 4, on which outer pane 5 is attached. Dimensionally is the height of the step 4a done in the way, that outer pane 5 comes leveled with part la of carrier 1. In this way it is achieved, that outer pane 5 is leveled with window frame or part la of carrier 1 and the hinge itself is not visible from the outer side. Due to that it is not subjected to outer influences and consequently worst functioning due to dirt. Beside that we get from outer side completely flat surface of outer pane, leveled with frame, without any bulges that would ruin aesthetic appearance.

Due to specially formed profiled carrier 1, it is possible to open window inside of outer fixed part 2 and inner movable part 3 of the hinge and it functions exactly the same as in the case when standard outer hinge is used.
