Abstract:
The present invention relates to a high altitude wind power generating system having a mounted generator employing both a cycloidal turbine and a motor, and to a method for operating the system. The high altitude wind power generating system is a high altitude wind power generating system which is positioned at a high altitude to generate electricity from wind power, and comprises: a floating balloon which is expanded by means of a buoyancy inducing gas charged therein; a cycloidal turbine including a rotating shaft disposed substantially parallel to the ground and blades having pitch angles individually controlled about pitch centerlines at the centers thereof wherein the blades rotate about the rotating shaft in the center in a state where the pitch centerlines are parallel to the centerline of the rotating shaft; and a combined motor and generator connected to the rotating shaft of the cycloidal turbine, capable of receiving rotational force from the rotating shaft in generating mode to generate electricity, and capable of transmitting driving power to the rotating shaft in motor mode to generate lift or thrust. According to the present invention, the effect of providing a high altitude wind power generating system which can receive rotational force from the rotating shaft in generating mode to generate electricity or transmit driving power to the rotating shaft in motor mode to generate lift or thrust can be realized.
