Abstract:
Provided is a technology which ensures a large examination space in a tunnel MRI device without incurring manufacturing cost increases and without significantly reducing uniformity in irradiation distribution with regard to irradiation efficiency or imaging regions. The present invention provides a high-frequency coil unit in which four partial tunnel coils are positioned in two opposing pairs in the circumference direction within a tunnel high-frequency shielding with spaces left therebetweeen, said RF coil generating either a circularly or elliptically polarized magnetic field by compositing the magnetic fields that are generated by each partial tunnel coil. The partial tunnel coils comprise: a partial tunnel conductor; a plurality of first conductors which are substantially parallel to the central axis of the high-frequency shielding, a plurality of capacitors which connect both ends of each first conductor with the partial tunnel conductor; and second conductors that are each adjacent to at least one end part of each first conductor. Each partial tunnel coil supplies a high-frequency signal having a common reference frequency and a prescribed amplitude ratio and phase difference.
