Abstract:
Disclosed is a high frequency coupler for transmitting high frequency power and high frequency signals between separated and different circuits, and which allows for a high degree of freedom in design. The high frequency coupler is provided with ground conductors (12a, 12b) and input-output lines (14a,14b) on a pair of reverse surfaces, and non-radioactive antennas (10a, 10b), capable of transferring high-frequency power to/from the input-output lines connected to either circuit. The antenna (10a,10b) on each surface has an approximately constant individual radiation resistance across a desired frequency band, with the individual radiation resistances being less than the characteristic impedance of the input-output lines. When the one antenna approaches a predetermined value or lower, electromagnetic resonance occurs in the frequency of either frequency band, and the strength of the coupling between the antennas varies according to the distance between each antenna and ground conductor.
