Title:
HIGH-FREQUENCY HEATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/037696
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A high-frequency heating device (1) has a microwave generation unit (2), a surface wave conversion unit (5), a surface wave propagation unit (6), and a placement unit (9). The microwave generation unit (2) generates microwaves. The surface wave conversion unit (5) converts the microwaves to surface waves. The surface wave propagation unit (6), in order to propagate the surface waves, has a plurality of propagation stubs (11) having substantially the same configuration that are provided on the same plane and are arranged periodically in the direction of propagation of the microwaves. The placement unit (9) is provided in proximity to the surface wave propagation unit (6) in order enable placement an object to be heated (7). The height of each of the plurality of propagation stubs (11) from the same plane is 1/4 or less of the wavelength of the microwaves. According to this configuration, highly-concentrated surface wave propagation using the periodic structure of stubs makes it possible to apply the desired grill marks to the object to be heated with little consumed power.
