Abstract:
A high-pressure fuel pump wherein the pressurization timing of the high-pressure fuel pump can be set at unequal intervals, a cam lobe of a plunger-driving cam is formed in a continuous manner such that there are no discontinuous sections in a cam curved surface and the operation of the plunger is regular, and the high-pressure fuel pump is highly precise for an unequal interval two-cylinder internal combustion engine, while also maintaining an operating characteristic of the high-pressure fuel pump. A reciprocating high-pressure fuel pump 8 in which a plunger 82 is made to operate opposite from a cam lobe 6a of a plunger-driving cam 6 that is provided on a camshaft 41 to which the power of a crankshaft 31 of an internal combustion engine 3 is transmitted, wherein: the cam lobe has a cam curved surface 60 comprising two highest sections 61 at a cam angle interval of 180° and two lowest sections 62 at a cam angle interval of 180°, and connecting the highest sections and the lowest sections in an alternating order; and when viewed in the direction of the camshaft axis Y, the angle θ of intersection of a first imaginary line L connecting the two highest sections and a second imaginary line M connecting the two lowest sections 62 is not a right angle.
