Abstract:
The object of the invention is to provide a high-pressure fuel supply pump in which the progress of corrosion and cavitation erosion can be suppressed even when the pressure becomes higher, or when biofuel or fuel with a high content ratio of biofuel is used, and a method of manufacturing the same. To attain this object, the high pressure fuel supply pump includes a discharge valve 51b that discharges the fuel and a discharge valve seat 51a on which the discharge valve 51b is seated, the discharge valve 51b and the discharge valve seat 51a have a ferrous material as the base material, a Co-based alloy layer 70b and a Cr-enriched portion 70b1 having a Cr concentration higher than that of the surrounding Co-based alloy layer 70b are formed on the surface of the discharge valve 51b, and a Co-based alloy layer 70a is formed on the surface of the discharge valve seat 51a.
