Abstract:

A high-pressure pump cam position detecting device for a high-pressure pump which enables a reduction in the detection time of a cam top position when an engine is started in the high-pressure pump for an accumulator fuel injection device to thereby reduce the total time of lift control of an electromagnetic valve by the high-pressure pump. The high-pressure pump cam position detecting device for detecting the position of a cam lobe of a cam formed on a camshaft in the high-pressure pump which is driven by the cam, pressurizes fuel at high pressure, and accumulates the pressurized fuel in an accumulator is characterized in that plural cam lobes are provided for each cylinder, position detecting pointers which are the same in number and phase as the cam lobes are provided on the periphery of the camshaft, and position signals of the position detecting pointers are detected by cam position detectors provided corresponding to the position detecting pointers.
