Abstract:
This neutron fluence rate measurement device comprises: a means which uses a scintillator to detect scintillation of β-rays emitted from I-128 generated as a result of radioactivation by a (n,γ) reaction in response to the irradiation of the scintillator by neutrons; and a means which uses I-128 β-ray energy spectrum information detected by the scintillator and information about variation over time in intensity of I-128 β-rays to ascertain the quantity of I-128 generated, to evaluate the fluence rate of neutrons with which the scintillator is irradiated.
