Abstract:
The present device relates to a speed-up gear for increasing the speed of a unicycle. That is, three gears (e.g., widely-used spur gears) are provided as one set, and two sets of spur gears are symmetrically attached to both the left and right sides of the unicycle to increase the speed of the unicycle. A large gear (1) of the three right gears is coupled to a pedal crank (19). An intermediate gear (2) of the three right gears changes a rotation direction. A small gear (3) of the three right gears is coupled to a wheel shaft to increase the speed of a unicycle in proportion to a ratio of the diameter of the large gear (1) to the diameter of the small gear (3). The three left gears are attached at symmetrical positions with respect to the three right gears except that only a left pedal crank is coupled in a direction which is rotated at an angle of about 180 degrees with respect to the right pedal crank (19). The aim of the present invention is to provide a unicycle in which a speed-up gear can be attached to a typical unicycle which does not have a large wheel, so as to achieve a high speed. Thus, short people can ride the unicycle, people riding the unicycle can be safe when the unicycle falls, and the unicycle can be easily loaded onto a vehicle. Figure 3 illustrates an assembled structure of the three gears of the unicycle, wherein the intermediate gear (2) has a small size and the position of a pedal crankshaft is lowered.
