Title:
HIGH-SPEED WORKING TOOL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/096473
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a high-speed working part with improved wear resistance and lubricity and a dry high-speed working method using the part, particularly a high-speed cutting part and a high-speed cutting method. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Halogen element is ion-implanted into the working part using a cemented carbide as a base metal and the working part is brought into contact with a workpiece at a speed of 150 m/min or higher to improve the wear resistance and lubricity of the part. Even when the working part has Ti-containing coating layer, the wear resistance and lubricity can be improved likewise. When a cutting tool including these parts is used, dry cutting at high speeds can be performed without using cutting lubricant. By bringing the working part into contact with the workpiece at the high speed, the part can generate a self-lubricating film on the surface thereof in contact with the workpiece.
