The magnesium-based alloy in question contains alloy components in the form of elements chosen from the Al, Zn, Mn, Zr, Th and rare earth group, and compounds of nitrogen and oxygen with any of these elements in the following proportions (wt %): alloy components chosen from the Al, Zn, Mn, Zr, Th and rare earth group 0.6-8.0, compounds of nitrogen and oxygen with any of the above 0.1-6.0, magnesium the remainder.
