Abstract:
A high-strength stainless steel spring that exhibits good workability, having
high load characteristics. There is provided a high-strength stainless steel
spring characterized in that the component formulation thereof consists of
0.04 to 0.08 mass% C, 0.15 to 0.22 mass% N, 0.3 to 2.0 mass% Si, 0.5 to 3.0 mass% Mn,
16 to 20 mass% Cr, 8.0 to 10.5 mass% Ni, 0.5 to 3.0 mass% Mo and the balance Fe and unavoidable
impurities, and that when D refers to the coil average diameter of the spring and,
in the event of stainless steel wire with a cross section of perfect circle, d refers
to the diameter of the steel wire, while, in the event of stainless steel wire with
a cross section of configuration other than the perfect circle, d’ refers
to the value of coil outside diameter minus coil average diameter, the spring
index expressed by D/d or D/d’ is in the range of 2 to 6.
