Abstract:
The present invention uses a high strength stainless steel wire which contains C, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, Cr, N, Al, O and Ca and in which the total amount of Ti, Nb, Ta and W is 0.50% or less, with the remainder comprising Fe and impurities. The value of Md30 represented by formula (1) is 0-30 (ºC). The strength of the steel wire is 1800 MPa or more. The amount of strain-induced martensite is 20-80 vol.%. The tensile residual stress in the longitudinal direction in a surface layer of the steel wire is 500 MPa or less. Formula 1: Md30(ºC)=551-462(C+N)-9.2Si-8.1Mn-29(Ni+Cu)-13.7Cr-18.5Mo. However, atomic symbols in formula (1) indicate content values (mass%) of elements in the chemical composition of the steel, and if an element is not contained, a value of 0 is substituted.
