Title:
HIGHLY EFFICIENT ETHANOL-FERMENTATIVE BACTERIA
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/088276
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of obtaining fermentative bacteria exhibiting high ethanol production efficiency, without introducing a foreign gene. The present invention further addresses the problem of obtaining fermentative bacteria resistant to growth inhibitors such as organic acids that prevent fermentative bacteria growth. The present invention produces bacteria exhibiting improved ethanol productivity, by introducing transaldolase and alcohol dehydrogenase genes, by self-cloning, to Meyerozyma guilliermondii, which is capable of efficiently producing ethanol from pentose and hexose by breeding. Furthermore, this bacteria strain has been deposited in the NITE Patent Microorganisms Depositary under the accession number NITE ABP-01976.
