Title:
HIGHLY FLEXIBLE, PIEZORESISTIVE, WIRE-BASED, AND SHAPE-VARIABLE SENSOR, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, AND SHAPE-VARIABLE SENSOR APPLICATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/212086
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a method for manufacturing a flexible sensor for three-dimensional curved surfaces of human or humanoid robot systems, wherein the flexible sensor is a highly flexible, piezoresistive, wire-based, and shape-variable sensor that can provide artificial skin having a spatial resolution of less than 300 micron texel for telepathological/telediagnostic medical applications, and can be applied to the prosthetic feet or the like of humanoid robots for postural stability. The highly flexible, piezoresistive, wire-based, and shape-variable sensor according to the present invention is characterized by being configured in the form of a sheet by arranging a plurality of piezoresistive wires including: a conductive core made of a mixture of a silicone polymer (platinum-catalyzed silicone), multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), and anhydrous toluene; and an insulation layer coated on the outer surface of the conductive core.
