Abstract:
Provided is a door hinge device which does not necessitate substantial changes in the structure of the door and the vehicle body and which enables the door to be more reliably opened in an emergency, such as a frontal collision, a side collision, or a lateral overturn of the vehicle. Also provided is a vehicle in which a door is connected in an openable and closable manner to the vehicle body by the door hinge device. A door hinge device (4) comprises: a vehicle body-side bracket (10) mounted to the vehicle body (2); a door-side bracket (20) mounted to a door (3); a hinge pin (30) serving as the shaft member for pivotably connecting the brackets (10, 20) to each other; a connection disengagement mechanism (40) for separating the hinge pin (30) from the brackets (10, 20) to disengage the connection between the brackets (10, 20); and a control device (60) for the connection disengagement mechanism (40). When a knob (3a or 3b) is operated after an airbag device is activated, the connection disengagement mechanism (40) of each door hinge device (4) operates to disengage the connection between the vehicle body-side bracket (10) and the door-side bracket (20).
