Abstract:
A hinge comprising a mounting and a hinge body (4), the mounting being adapted to be secured to a fixture; an arm (2) having first and second ends, the arm (2) being connected at a first end to the mounting; a collar (3) connected to the second end of the arm (2), the collar (3) having an axial bore (5); a spindle (7) located on a hinge axis and rotatably mounted in the bore (5); the hinge body (4) comprising a leaf, the leaf including one or more housings (53), the or each housing (53) including a bore (6) to receive the spindle (7) to permit rotation of the leaf about the axis in use; the leaf further comprising a clamping member (14) configured so that a door panel (12) may be securely engaged by the hinge body (4) and the clamping member (14); wherein the collar (3) and one or more housings (53) comprise a hinge knuckle; and wherein the hinge body (4) and clamping member (14) are arranged so that when a door panel (12) having an aperture (13) communicating between opposite sides thereof with the aperture (13) being located at or adjacent an edge of the panel (12), the panel (12) may be engaged between the hinge body (4) and clamping member (14) with the knuckle wholly or partially located within the aperture (13); wherein the arm (2) is located at one side of the mounting and the collar (3) is laterally displaced from the arm (2); and the hinge axis (105a) and a sealing strip (9) are located in a common plane in a closed position of the hinge.
