Abstract:
Provided is a hinge structure for a spare tire carrier such that the support stiffness of tire carrier hinges can be increased. This hinge structure for the spare tire carrier (20) rotatably supports the spare tire carrier on one side (22) of the back surface of a vehicle body (12) by means of tire carrier hinges (24, 25) in such a way as to permit the spare tire carrier to open sideways. A reinforcing member (36) which is formed in a stepped manner with respect to the mounting direction of the tire carrier hinge (25) and has left and right fastening sections (36a, 36e) is provided on said side (22) of the back surface of the vehicle body (12). The tire carrier hinge (25) is formed into a Z-shaped part having left and right fastening sections (41, 42). The two fastening sections (41, 42) of the lower tire carrier hinge (25) are fastened with bolts (45) to the two fastening sections (36a, 36e) of the reinforcing member (36).
