A hinge unit, wherein two panel bodies formed in a rectangular plate shape are abutted on each other at the side end faces thereof in a direction orthogonal to the plate face direction of the panel bodies along the longitudinal direction and connected to each other in the state of being rotatable relative to each other to form a door system. The hinge unit is characterized by comprising two bar-like strut bodies fitted to the side end faces of these two panel bodies, four helical gears fixed to the axial upper and lower end faces of these two strut bodies with their rotating center positions aligned with the center axis passing the center point of the panel bodies in the plate thickness direction, and a connection body connecting two sets of assemblies formed of the strut bodies and the helical gears rotatably to each other from the opposite side of the strut bodies in the state of the pair of opposed helical gears among these four helical gears meshed with each other at the upper and lower end faces. With this constitution, the hinge unit capable of supporting even a large-sized and heavy door and the door system can be provided by a simple structure without producing noise and such a fear that fingers may be pinched.
