Abstract:
HIV-1 protease inhibitors, each containing as the active ingredient a P2 peptide which is a peptide translated from the gene information of HIV-1 virus. The inhibitors contain each as the active ingredient a synthetic peptide having the same amino acid sequence as that of the P2 peptide or compounds analogous to the P2 peptide. These HIV-1 protease inhibitors are based on methionine-containing compounds which are particularly exemplified by peptides having the amino acid sequence Ala-Glu-Ala-Met-Ser-Gln-Val-Thr-Asn-Thr-Ala-Thr-Ile-Met.
