Abstract:
A hoist for an elevator, comprising a housing having an outer cylindrical part, a rotating part rotatable about a spindle having an inner cylindrical part disposed on the inside of the outer cylindrical part, a drive pulley, and a braking surface perpendicular to the spindle, and an electromagnetic brake device for braking the rotation of the rotating part disposed on the inside of the inner cylindrical part, the electromagnetic brake device further comprising a braking body allowed to come into contact with and be separated from the braking surface by the reciprocating motion of the spindle in an axial direction, a braking spring for energizing the braking body to a side for bringing the braking body into contact with the braking surface, and an electromagnet for opening the braking body apart from the braking surface against the braking spring.
