Abstract:
A hoist for an elevator, wherein the rotation of a drive sheave is braked by a brake part. The brake part comprises a brake disk rotated integrally with the drive sheave and a brake part body braking the rotation of the brake disk by holding the brake disk. The brake disk is disposed on the radial outside of the drive sheave. Also, the brake disk comprises first and second braking surfaces opposed to each other. The brake part body comprises a first braking piece brought into contact with and separated from the first braking surface and a second braking piece brought into contact with and separated from the second braking surface.
