Abstract:
A hoist for an elevator, wherein a base body is less thermally deformed even if a motor is heated. The hoist comprises the base body having a tubular cylindrical part and a bottom part formed at one side of the cylindrical part so as to close it, a motor stator winding installed on the cylindrical part, a motor rotating body supported on the base body rotatably about its axis, a braking body installed on the rotating body, and a braking machine installed on the base body and performing braking operation for the braking body. The bottom part is so formed that at least a part thereof is formed in a curved shape and the curved shape is projected to the rotating body side. Thus, since the web rigidity of the bottom part is increased, the thermal deformation of the base body can be decreased.
