Abstract:
A hoist (1) for an elevator is provided with: an electric motor (3) which has a rotating shaft (6) and which is covered with a housing (3a): a cooling blower (11) which is provided so as to discharge air within the housing (3a) to the outside of the housing (3a), the air having been warmed by heat generated by the electric motor (3); a sheave (5) which is affixed to the rotating shaft (6) so as to be located next to the housing (3a) and on which a rope (10) suspending the car is wound; a rope retainer (12) which is provided to the housing (3a) so as to protrude to the outer peripheral side of the sheave (5), preventing the rope (10) from dislodging from the sheave (5), and which has a hole (12b) extending through to the inside of the housing (3a) and having an opening (12a) open to the outer peripheral side of the sheave (5); and a filter (13) for filtering air flowing through the hole (12b).
