Abstract:

A hoisting apparatus for an elevator, with which apparatus a traction-type elevator apparatus can be lightened in weight. A hoisting apparatus for an elevator has pressing rollers pressing a rope to the outer periphery of a sheave and rotatably supported by a non-rotation body, and the apparatus has pressing means for pressing the pressing rollers to the rope. The outer periphery of each pressing roller has a circular-arc groove coupled to the rope and is formed of an elastic body. The pressing rollers are structured by at least a pair of the rollers that is substantially symmetrically arranged in relation to the rotation center of the sheave, and the rollers are movable with respect to the rope. A belt that is run between the pair of the rollers is provided, and the rollers press the rope to the outer periphery of the sheave through the belt provided between the pair of rollers.
