Description:
TITLE OF INVENTION

Holder for holding and removing teeth cleaning twigs and method thereof

FIELD OF INVENTION

[001] The present disclosure relates to a holder for holding and removing teeth cleaning twigs and method thereof. Particularly, the present disclosure relates to a holder that facilitates to hold a small sized teeth cleaning twig to enable efficient cleaning of teeth internally and externally.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A twig of a tree, commonly known as datun in India, is a tool used for cleaning teeth and helps to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Typically, such twigs are of neem trees, babul/babool trees or meswak trees. Generally, a twig used for cleaning teeth is required to be long enough so that the twig can be held in hand and introduced in the mouth for cleaning the teeth. Further, as the twig is straight and not flexible or bendable, the use of the twig is difficult to clean the internal side of teeth. Brush holders are known in the prior art, for example from patent documents, WO2016141853 and W01984000482 which are related to toothbrushes that require toothpastes for cleaning teeth. The toothbrush with screw rod to push and squeeze toothpaste of the patent document WO2016141853 discloses a mechanism for squeezing a fixed amount of toothpaste. The brush of WO 1984000482 has fixed and movable bristles and a pusher to push the movable bristles. However, none of the patent documents are related to a holder that holds and removes twigs.

[002] The known toothbrushes have bristles on which chemical-based/Ayurveda based toothpastes for cleaning of teeth. The toothbrushes need to be frequently replaced with new ones that result in polymeric pollution and toothpastes add-up cost. Further, twigs used for cleaning teeth are wasted because only front portions of the twigs are used for cleaning and the remaining portion meant for holding are disposed of. Furthermore, twigs being rigid are difficult to clean the internal portion of teeth. Hence, there is a need for a holder that rigidly holds and removes teeth cleaning twigs and is easy to clean internal and external teeth.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTIONS

[003] Some of the objects of the arrangement of the present disclosure are aimed to ameliorate one or more problems of the prior art or to at least provide a useful alternative and are listed herein below.

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a holder that is adjustable to hold and remove teeth cleaning twigs.

Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a holder that holds teeth cleaning twigs that facilitates cleaning of teeth internally and externally.

Still another object of the present disclosure is to provide a holder that holds teeth cleaning twigs that is cost effective because of using a natural teeth cleaning twig as compared with cost intensive conventional processed toothpaste.

Yet another object of the present disclosure is to provide a holder that easily holds and removes teeth cleaning twigs and hence prevents the need to change the entire holder and hence saves the replacement cost associated with conventional brushes.

Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a method that easily holds and removes teeth cleaning twigs.

Other objects and advantages of the present disclosure will be more apparent from the following description when read in conjunction with the accompanying figures, which are not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[004] The holder for holding and removing teeth cleaning twigs according to the invention in comparison has the advantages of cleaning teeth internally and externally by use of small sized naturally available teeth cleaning twigs replaceably held in a reusable holder. [007] Referring now to the drawings, Figures 1 to 15, where the present invention is generally referred to with numeral (100), it can be observed that a holder, in accordance with an embodiment, for holding and removing teeth cleaning twigs. The holder (100) includes a head portion (20) and a body portion (30).

[008] The head portion (20) is defined with a receptacle section (21) and a neck section (22). The receptacle section (21) holds the teeth cleaning twig (10). The receptacle section (21) is like an open container (21c) that has a receiving end (21a), which is the open end, to introduce a teeth cleaning twig (10) from the teeth cleaning twigs (10). One cleaning twig (10) is to be introduced in the receptacle section (21) at a time. The neck section (22) is defined with a cavity (22a). The cavity (22a) is defined with a portion (22b) of internal threads (22c). The receptacle section (21) has a connecting end (21b) which is defined with an opening (21c). The opening (21c) is in connection with the cavity (22a).

[009] In one embodiment, the receptacle section (21) and the neck section (22) are integrally connected. Though, the present disclosure is described with the receptacle section (21) and the neck section (22) are integrally connected, however, the present disclosure is not limited to the integral connection between the receptacle section (21) and the neck section (22) and a removable connection by way of threading or press-fitment is also within the scope of the present disclosure.

[010] In an exemplary embodiment, the receptacle section (21) is connected to the neck section (22) at defined angle. As shown in Figures 11 and 12, the receptacle section (21) is connected at 90 degrees with the neck section (22). As shown in Figures 13 and 14, the receptacle section (21) is connected at 100 degrees with the neck section (22). As shown in Figures 15 and 16, the receptacle section (21) is connected at 80 degrees with the neck section (22). Hence, the receptacle section (21) and the neck section (22) can be connected at any defined angle.

[Oi l] The body portion (30) is defined with an inserting section (30a) and a handle section (30b). The inserting section (30a) is defined with an externally threaded part (30ai) and a holder rod (30aii). The externally threaded part (30ai) has external threads (30aiii) that engage with the internal threads (22c). The handle section (30b) is selectively rotated in a clockwise direction such that the tip (30aiv) of the holder rod (30aii) travels in the opening (21c) and contacts with the teeth cleaning twig (10) such that the teeth cleaning twig (10) traps between the receptacle section (21) and the holder rod (30aii). The handle section (30b) is selectively rotated in an anti -clockwise direction such that the tip (30aiv) of the holder rod (30aii) travels apart from the opening (21c) to remove the teeth cleaning twig (10) and replace with another teeth cleaning twig (10).

[012] In one embodiment, the inserting section (30a) and the handle section (30b) are integrally connected. Though, the present disclosure is described with the inserting section (30a) and the handle section (30b) are integrally connected, however, the present disclosure is not limited to the integral connection between the inserting section (30a) and the handle section (30b) and a removable connection by way of threading or press-fitment is also within the scope of the present disclosure.

[013] The present disclosure discloses a method for holding and removing teeth cleaning twigs (10) in the holder (100). The method includes picking one teeth cleaning twig (10) from a number of teeth cleaning twig and inserting the picked teeth cleaning twig in the receptacle section (21) of the head portion (20). More specifically, the receptacle section (21) is provided with the receiving end (21a) and the teeth cleaning twig (10) is introduced in the receiving end (21a). Once the teeth cleaning twig (10) is introduced in the receptacle section (21), then the handle section (30b) is rotated in the clockwise direction. The rotation in the clockwise direction causes progression of the tip (30aiv) because of the progression of the holder rod (30an) in the cavity (22a). The progression of the tip (30aiv) is continued so that the tip (30aiv) passes through the opening (21c) of the receptacle section (21). The rotation, in the clockwise direction, is continued till the tip (30aiv) is progressed to touch and trap the teeth cleaning twig (10) between the receptacle section (21) and the tip (30aiv) of the holder rod (30aii). Once, the teeth cleaning twig (10) is rigidly held in the receptacle section, the handle section (30b) is held by a user that moves the holder (100) to enable cleaning of teeth. Figures 8 to 10 represent views that depict cleaning of different portions of the teeth. Thus, the user can manipulate the handle section (30b) to clean the internal portion (40a) of teeth (40) or external portion (40b) of the teeth (40).

[014] Once the cleaning is completed, handle section (30b) is rotated in the anticlockwise direction. Anticlockwise rotation of the handle section (30b) retracts out the holder rod (30aii) and thereby the tip (30aiv). The anticlockwise rotation is continued till the tip (30aiv) disengages with the teeth cleaning twig (10) and removed from the opening (21c). The teeth cleaning twig (10) is released from the trap. The teeth cleaning twig (10) is removed from the receptacle section (21) and is discarded. The teeth cleaning twig (10) is replaced by another teeth cleaning twig (10) by inserting the teeth cleaning twig (10) in the receptacle section (21) and repeating the steps of rotation to trap, cleaning of teeth and discarding. Thus, the holder is reusable.

[015] Typically, when the user initiates rotation in the clockwise and anticlockwise directions the rotation causes movement of the external threads (30aiii) over the internal threads (22c). The external threads (30aiii) and the internal threads (22c) causes progression and retraction of the holder rod (30aii) and thereby the tip (30aiv). Further, the location of the external threads (30aiii) on the inserting section (30a) and the internal threads (22c) in the cavity (22a) can be modified as required and is not-limited to the location as depicted in the accompanying drawings. [016] Further, figures 11 to 16 show different non-limiting angular connections between the receptacle section (21) to the neck section (22) the ranges from 80 degrees to 100 degrees. However, the angular connection in the present disclosure is not limited to the angles ranging from 80 degrees to 100 degrees and any angular value that enables the working of the invention is within the scope of the present disclosure.

[017] The holder (100) can be made of any material such as metallic or polymeric or any combination of materials that enhances longevity of the holder (100). The holder (100) provides advantages over the prior arts. One of the advantages is the holder (100) is reusable and not like the conventional bristle brushes that need to be discarded after using for a certain period of time. The prevention of discarding of the conventional bristle brushes causes less and reusing the holder (100) of the present invention results in less environmental pollution and saving of repurchasing cost. Further, there are less components, namely the head portion (20) and the body portion (30), and the components are provided with less features, namely threading hole forming and cavity on the elongated bodies of the head portion (20) and the body portion (30), with provides easiness to manufacture in low cost.

[018] Further, the holder (100) facilitates to hold the teeth cleaning twigs (10) which are naturally available twigs of neem trees, babul/babool trees or meswak trees. The use of teeth cleaning twigs (10) facilitates to clean teeth and prevent tooth decay and gum diseases and provides enormous benefits that are well known. The teeth cleaning twigs (10) replaces the chemical based toothpastes that are required to be manufactured and hence are cost intensive. Further, as seen in the accompanying Figures that the size of the teeth cleaning twigs (10) is relatively smaller than the conventionally used teeth cleaning twigs (10) have long lengths to facilitate holding, inserting in the user’s mouth and cleaning. As only the tip portion of the conventionally used teeth cleaning twigs are utilized, after cleaning of teeth, the entire long length teeth cleaning twigs (10) are discarded thereby causing wastage of unused portion required for holding and inserting in the user’s mouth. Thus, the utilization of small sized teeth cleaning twigs (10) saves natural resources of teeth cleaning twigs (10) and prevents wastage of the natural resources. Further, as teeth cleaning twigs are rigid, it becomes difficult to the clean internal surfaces of teeth or teeth that are far away from mouth, hence, the holder (100) provides angular positioning of the teeth cleaning twigs (10) that provides convenience to clean internal surface of teeth and that are far away from mouth. From the above description of the present paragraph, it is well understandable that the holder (100) provides sufficient length to the teeth cleaning twigs (10) and hence small sized teeth cleaning twigs is conveniently used and the holder (100) provides desired angular positioning of the teeth cleaning twigs.

[019] In reference to the disclosure herein, for purposes of convenience and clarity only, directional terms, such as, clockwise and anticlockwise are used with respect to the accompanying drawings. Such directional terms should not be construed to limit the scope of the invention in any manner.

[020] The foregoing description conveys the best understanding of the objectives and advantages of the present invention. Different embodiments, steps or alternatives may be made of the inventive concept of this invention. It is to be understood that all matter disclosed herein is to be interpreted merely as illustrative, and not in a limiting sense.
