Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a hollow fiber membrane module with which a more compact osmosis treatment plant can be achieved, and which can reduce pressure losses in the hollow fiber membranes. [Solution] This hollow fiber membrane module is provided with a single pressure container, and a plurality of hollow fiber membrane elements packed into the pressure container and linked in the axial direction, wherein the hollow fiber membrane module is characterized in that the hollow fiber membrane elements include a plurality of hollow fiber membranes, the plurality of hollow fiber membranes having an opening at at least one end; by being provided with an external port through which the interiors of the plurality of hollow fiber membranes and the outside of the hollow fiber membrane module communicate; and the openings of the plurality of hollow fiber membranes in each of the hollow fiber membrane elements connect to the outside port, without being routed through the interiors of the hollow fiber membranes of the other hollow fiber membrane elements.
