Abstract:
The present invention relates to a home network system using a robot and a control method thereof, and the present system comprises: a home network device unit including a plurality of electronic devices for transmitting and receiving data over a first network; a cloud server for transmitting and receiving data over a second network; and a home manager robot for collecting state information of the home network device unit connected to the first network and controlling the operation thereof, determining a control logic to be performed by recognizing an input from the outside, collecting relevant data over the second network from the cloud server if it is determined that data required to execute the control logic is not stored therein, and providing the collected data over the first network to the electronic device and executing the control logic if it is determined that devices required to execute the control logic are not equipped. Accordingly, it is possible to control home network devices, such as electronic devices, sensor devices, and media devices, using a robot connectable to a cloud server or a mobile terminal, and to select available external devices, thereby being capable of supporting extended functions if the robot is unable to perform a function autonomously in controlling the home network devices.
